Coffee Break

September 2011

Coffee Break is one of the Alzheimer Society's major annual fundraiser's where friends, co-workers, and customers gather in communities across Canada to raise funds for local Alzheimer Societies. Participants at the event make a donation in exchange for a cup of coffee.

Become a Coffee Break(TM) Host:

  • You can host a break in your workplace, home, church, school, at your community centre, in a local mall, or anywhere you can set up a stand and serve coffee. You can offer tea and juice as well as coffee, and add cookies, or pastries to increase the donations.
  • Another way to help raise funds is to sell coffee cup cut-outs at your coffee break.  Individuals can purchase a coffee cup cut-out write their name on it and then display it.

Interested in hosting a Coffee Break?  Contact your local chapter to register and we will provide you with a host kit containing items to help make your day a success.

Don't have time to host a Coffee Break in person?  You can still support your local Coffee Break with an online donation by clicking on the chapter you wish to support:

Kingston-Frontenac-Lennox-Addington
Leeds-Grenville
Prince Edward County

Select 'Coffee Break' from the designation choices and your donation will be counted in with the Coffee Break totals for the chapter.

Thank you very much!

"Forget-Me-Not Wedding Program"

It is becoming increasingly popular for couples to make a donation to charity in lieu of things such as:

  • wedding favours
  • wedding party gifts
  • thank you gifts
  • shower gifts
  • gifts to the couple

We are happy to offer you place cards stating that you have made a donation or Forget-Me-Not seeds to give to your guests. These are provided to you with your donation and you will receive a tax receipt for the donation amount minus the cost of the cards or seeds. You can also purchase ribbons to give to your guests for $2.00, however you will not receive a tax receipt for this purchase.

If you would like your guests to make a donation in lieu of a gift to you, we will provide you with donation cards for them to fill out. They can give them directly to you and then you can send them in to us.

This program is available at the Alzheimer Society of Lanark County and Leeds-Grenville. A modified version of this program is available in Belleville.
